Franklin Park Client Found Not Guilty on DUI and All Other Charges
By: Attorney Derek Martin
An evening rain-slicked crash triggered a DUI charge, but a shaky police narrative and a masterful cross-examination secure not guilty verdicts across every count.
Credibility goes a long way. Likewise, a lack of credibility can prove damaging to a case — and that’s exactly what happened to prosecutors here.
A client involved in a rainy evening accident in Woodridge, Illinois was charged with DUI of alcohol and/or drugs in DuPage County. His vehicle slid on wet pavement and struck another vehicle stopped at a red light. Both parties agreed to move to a nearby gas station, and both called police.
Police dash-cam footage showed two officers running a “good cop, bad cop” routine with the drivers. Our client consistently denied consuming alcohol or drugs despite repeated questioning, and refused field sobriety testing.
The evidence supposedly proving our client was guilty of a DUI beyond a reasonable doubt was shaky at best, and the judge hearing the case was shocked at the lack of evidence. Combined with a masterful cross-examination of the arresting officer, that shakiness let us secure not guilty verdicts for several charges.

October 6, 2026“Had 4 different cases that tied into one and this team resolved all of them that (some) have been open since 2021, which is how long I’ve been without a license. Contacted them in July 2026 after receiving 2 back to back cases on top of 2 already being open and I received my license back in September with only supervision. This team stays in constant communication and was always readily available to text and/ or call with all answers to my questions and concerns being from I’m from another state and only work around the area. Thanks team, you’re appreciated .”

October 6, 2026“I don't think I could've gotten through my DUI without them. They brought my charges down to a misdemeanor, made sure I was aware of every single court date, ensured that I understood everything, and that all essential information was communicated thoroughly and effectively. When I missed a court date on accident, they were able to help me get the warrant dismissed and set a new court date, and reminded me the previous night. All in all, I truly believe that money was well spent with them and I would recommend them to anyone going through a DUI or anything similar.”
